PLEASE TAKE OUT YOUR MODS BEFORE UPDATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    Make sure to backup the folder in documents\electronicarts\thesims3 to a safe place. That's all your user data like your download...

Is anyone else having an issue installing the latest June game patch, 1.55.4?

When I open my launcher and attempt to download the patch I get an error:

Update Error : I/O operation failed (rename).

I have tried the USA version as well as the Digital Download version, as my EPs are digital. I have tried manual as well as automatic to install.

My game version is 1.50.56.02107 and my EP version (?) is 15.0.135.02107.

I have never seen this type of message with an update before and am stumped. If someone could point me in the right direction, I'd Greatly appreciate it

    This error is usually caused by a firewall or antivirus blocking the connection. Turn if off for patching, then turn back on.

      AVG is the only thing I have installed. I disabled it and it will still not download.

        Did you only install the smaller incremental patches or also the large super patch ?
