I have all of the Sims EPs up to Supernatural and some of the SPs installed on my brand-spanking new computer.

However, my game is crashing. Sometimes in CAS, sometimes thirty or forty minutes into gameplay, or sometimes right after I try to move a family in. THe screen will either lock up completely or take me to my desktop with the message that the Sims 3 has stopped working.
I have been working with EA customer service and all of their solutions have yet to work. I've tried lowering my graphics options and my screen resolution. I've tried uninstalling the base game and downloading the latest patch after reinstall. I've tried putting the Sims in the DEP section. Nothing has worked. I've come back to these games after a long break and would really like to start playing them again. Please help. If there are any suggestions or ideas, I'll try them.
I am having the same problem and have come to the conclusion that it is Windows 7. How we get it resolved I don't know as there seems to be nobody that can give a proper answer. I feel robbed of all the cash I have spent.

I have tried and tried to download my games from Origin, I have Sims3 purchased from amazon but I registered it on origin, I then purchased Pets from Origin, I did not download from Origin as it would just lock up, then I bought Ambitions registered on sims site on Origin, My games show up I try to load using launcher I get Sims 3, sims pets, then it asks what town I want and no matter what town I pick it starts to load and then just STOPS. How do I remove the games from my computer can I just do it in the my computer area and delete and then reinstall??? pLEASE SOMEONE HELP

Having the same problem, I loved the sims from the very first version and played it for years. Became self employed and had to delete the game from my pc as it had become slow and problematic possibly because of other work related software I installed.
Two years later with an established business and more time on my hands I have bought a custom built pc specifically built to play sims with no access to work programmes so I can relax. Re-downloaded sims 3 plus expansion packs & stuff packs that were saved, plus bought all the more recent additions. Just 2 days into playing it starts freezing up every few seconds, thinking of just giving up on it! I love the game but I'm useless with computers and find it too frustrating instead of being relaxing

I have found so many of these kinds of threads and tried everything that all of them have suggested. NOTHING works. I double checked my system against the system requirements of Island Paradise (it's the latest one I have) just to make sure it was fine. My system is way above what's required. I've uninstalled and then re-installed everything. (I have all expansions and stuff EXCEPT Sweet Treats, 70s,80s,90s, Movies, and Into the Future). I tried multiple times resetSim *, deleting the cache files, I even went and tried a mod that was reccomended multiple times off other forums. Allllll to no avail and it's ridiculously frustrating! (also, no custom content installed - even from the sims3 store - thanks to the re-installation). All settings were tried on low, then returned to medium (after being on high initially). Memories have also been turned off.
I can't even remember how long I've been having the freezing issue or under which expansion it initially started; I have most noticed it in Island Paradise though. For a while, like someone else mentioned earlier, I thought it may be over-sized families or lots. NOPE. It's anything, anyone, anywhere over any save.
Reading back through a few of the other posts about mid-way... Some people seem to think it may just be Origin. So in that case, considering it's now a requirement which I think is both brilliant and absolutely ridiculous at the same time (having to be online... absolutely BS, but the cloud idea was great because I don't have half my discs anymore). But in the case that it MAY be Origin, would anyone suggest possible fixes there? (none come to mind for me because I'm not used to an Origin/Steam kind of program).
