I haven't seen anyone post this yet but it's what happened in my game.
I'm playing on a laptop that's fairly new. I haven't had any problems with my game so far...not even the lag that so many reported having with IP. No bugs, no glitches.
I did a reset a few days before the patch came out. I installed the patch and then when ITF arrived I installed it.
I started a new game with ITF installed. I have some store content installed but no mods. I was playing into the second or third Sim day when my Sim couple returned from the future....it had been their second trip. They had been in the regular future and shortly after returning to to their home in the present my entire computer froze. The game was completely locked up with only the plumbob over their head turning. Nothing else was moving not even the clock.
I finally had to force my computer to shut down. I haven't had a chance since to try to play again.
