@mfinley6060  Where are you in the adventure?  The initial report back (when your sim claims to have seen something suspicious; I don't remember the exact wording) is supposed to be triggered when wandering through the museum.  I don't remember which room, but I just went through the entire second floor and then reported in.  If this isn't triggering for you, I'd recommend dropping the opportunity and trying to pick it up later.

If you did initially report in and then were sent back to investigate, what you need to do is collect the remains and deposit them in the graveyard.  I believe the treasure chest where you're supposed to place them will be highlighted, but if one chest doesn't work, try another.  After the remains are placed in the appropriate spot, you'll get a notice that you've completed the task.
