Game can't update, launcher still trying to connect to EA Download Manager

My game is updated to version 6.5.1.020031

I'm pretty sure it's not up to date, do to the error "Unable to connect to the EA Download Manager"

the launcher should use Origin to update, shouldn't it?

I have Origin installed,  and it recognizes The Sims 3 base game, and my 2 other expansions, The Sims 3 World Adventures and The Sims 3 Late Night.

Should I download a manual patch?

It says my game is up to date, but that doesn't make sense if it's still trying to connect to EADM,

help?
