Game continually locks up in buy mode

Could be that there are some left over files from the moving actions you took.

Make sure everything Sims is gone from your computer before reinstalling

If the game still shows in your Uninstaller Menu afterwards, you can use CCleaner to get rid of those.

Also do you have the user files still on c or did you move those too ?

I have a question.  I went to the site about reseting game to factory settings without having to uninstall but the problem I am having is after I rename the sims 3 file to sims3_backup, the next step is to start the game or launcher... I can't.  It says to install the base game.  What am I doing wrong?

Okay - I did a clean uninstall.  Only have the base game loaded..game loads fine but when I go into buy mode the game locks up and I have force a shut down. I am so very frustrated right now.  I have never had this issue on this laptop until I moved everything to D drive.

The 700er series do have a lot of problem with the game.

Do you have your docs folder on c or d ?

Also make sure the game runs on the Nvidia card and not on the Intel Chip while playing.

You can also turn on triple buffering and vsync to make sure the game runs better.

Also are your Nvidia drivers up-to-date ? What version do they have (you can check in the Nvidia experience)

Yes.

Tried game again and ran okay for a while then would lock up in build/buy mode.  I came out of it after sitting for 5/10 minutes.  Went to live mode then it locked up for about 5/10 minutes.  Tried buy mode again and it locked up.  Had to force shut down.  This is very frustrating.  ☹️

And you didn't put back any custom content ?

How did you move your doc folder to D ? Manually or did you use the method to tell Windows that the docs folder is now on d ?
