Game crash, forces hard reboot

I have windows 7, my computer is fully updates, drivers are fully updated.  I have done any basic things i could think of to fix the problem, restarting computer, ect.  I have also closed all non microsoft programs and did a cold restart, still didnt work.  Everything works for about 10-15 min. Play mode, Build/Buy mode and then all the sudden the screen goes completely back, and nothing works not Alt F4, Ctrl Alt Delete, nothing.  Am forced to reboot.  I have spent over $600 on this game and i just refuse to believe that i cant play it on my computer which operates perfectly fine otherwise.  Please help me i am willing to do almost anything to get this game to work on my laptop.

  • Black screens are usually a sign of overheating. Do you have any programs on your computer with which you can check the temperature ?

Make sure the computer has enough cooling and the fans are free of dust and stuff.

That sonds like a hardware issue. Have you run a diagnostic program ? Do you have troubles with any other games then thesims3 ? Why can't it be an overheating issue ? Are you monitoring your temperature ?
