game crashes when i load household

I can't guarantee though that this is the right one.

Is this an older computer or did you just get it ? It could be that the drivers for Windows 8 don't work well for older models.

Are you using custom content or mods in your game ?

Are you willing to try a third party tool ? There's a tool called crash log analyzer (just google).

It's not a magic tool that can stop the crashes but it can give an indication to where the error lies. Just copy the errors you get to the clipboard and post them here.

This tool is not supported by EA so you'll be using it at your own risk

I went on the crash log analyzer and I'm not sure exactly what to do. Does it automatically analyze my crash just by being on the website or is there something i have to download inorder for it to analyze my crash.

No, I don't think i have  any custom content or mod. Like i said, I just got the game and I 've barely played it. My computer was bought about 6 months ago and it came with windows 8. I didn't download it separately.

You need to download and install. To download, you will need to register (for free) at the site.

I would try evicting the family from the house and moving them to another. If it still errs, something in the neighborhood is causing the problem or the family itself.

It could also be an access problem where The Sims 3 is having difficulty writing the data to the drive. An anti-virus could be causing that issue but it looks like that possibility was already explored.


Edit: Since it looks like this person just got the game, I would try creating an entirely new neighborhood and go from there. If the issue sorts itself in a new neighborhood, abandon the old one--there's something wrong in it.

I have moved into a different town with different sims and the problem still exists. I haven't even bought a house yet. The moment I purchase a house and try to load it, the game crashes almost immediately.

I do have Avast Anti-Virus though. Maybe it's hindering it in some way but I don't really know. I feel like I have tried everything.

Try turning it off just to try and find out if it has anything to do with it. 

I'll go ask Ford if he has any more ideas.

Not sure if we covered this: Does it matter which neighrborhood you try ? Try sunset valley if you just tried one.

Sunset Valley is where the problem started from. That's why I switched neighbordhoods.
