Game keeps crashing

This only started happening the other day so it hasn't been an ongoing issue, its also not a problem I've ever had before. my game launches and loads no problem but after a few minutes of playing it crashes out of nowhere with no error message or warning. im not sure if this is just an issue with this save file because its the only save file/ household I play and haven't tried it with another one but I have the lazydeutches patch and regul save cleaner installed so all my catch files have been deleted. I do play with a lot of mods and cc but haven't installed anything new before having this problem.

  • @katsimming  Please try to run this save with no custom content present and with only NRaas mods, none from any other sources.  You don't need to save your progress; this is just for testing.  If you have launcher-installed cc, you can test without it by removing the .dbc files from DCCache.

I tried a few different things.

Tried playing in a new town and creating a new save file and everything seemed to run perfectly fine.

Tried running the game with no cc and only nraas mods like you said, only played for a short amount of time but everything seemed to run smoothly and my game didn’t crash.

Ran the game with all my custom content and and mods. Played with my usual household and hit save as instead of just saving like normal. It ran fine for a few minutes but ended up crashing.

@katsimming  It sounds like your custom content may well be the issue here.  For anything installed into Mods > Packages, you can use the 50/50 method to test the items:

    https://modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Finding_Problem_Custom_Content#The_50.25_Method

For any cc installed through the launcher, use Method by Mell in this article to test the .dbc files:

    https://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2011/01/tutorial-how-to-get-rid-of-unwanted-custom-content.html

Except instead of simply viewing the files in the launcher, you'll test them in-game.  The reason you need Method by Mell is that the files need to be renumbered, as described, in order for the game to load them.
