The same thing keeps happening to me! Except, in mine, no matter what job my sim had, it still did it! I was a teacher, and it wouldn't let me go to work, so they fired me, and then I joined ghosthunter, and the same thing keeps happening!

Try resetting your sim:
- open cheat console (shift, ctrl, c)
- type in: resetSim firstname surname
- hit enter
Don't know if that will help, but you can try. Otherwise, does this happen in every save? Or just with this particular sim? Can you try saving a copy of your sim to the library (you can do it in edit town) and placing them in another save? Does the same problem repeat itself?
