Greeting cards and digital picture frames stopped working

What error are you seeing ? Can you not take them any longer ? Do they not show up after taking ? Or something else ?

Only suggestion I have is this: Try the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps/td-p/714/

If its the glitch were you cant place photos into the frame (it fly's back into your inventory for no reason) try taking a pic with the Sims cell phone and putting that pick in and then the greeting card and then deleting the cell phone pic (may need to take new greeting card) , if its the one where you cant place anything in it I would try "testingcheatsenabled true" and then going into buy mode and resetting the photo frame. those things usually work for me but I'm no expert and if they don't I have no idea...but with the first glitch the cell phone pic has fixed it a few times for me so I would try it if you haven't, the only problem seems to be every time you make a new world it goes back to not working and you have to put the cell phone pic in the frame again which can get annoying but I love the photo frames to much to not use them just because of that =)
