  • @HaruYRen  Sure, I can help, but I need a little bit of information.  Please go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, open DeviceConfig.log, copy the first 40 or so lines (stop when you get to Options), and paste them here.  You can delete your user and computer names, about 20 lines down; the file doesn't contain any other personal information.

  • @HaruYRen  Since you sent me the information I requested via DM, here's what you need to do.  First, open GraphicsCards.sgr, which will likely be in one of these locations unless you changed the default install location:

    Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 3\Game\Bin

    Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims 3\Game\Bin

    Right at the top of GraphicsCards.sgr, you'll see this:

    vendor "ATI" 0x1002

    Create a new line under that and copy and paste this:

    	card 0x73df "AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT"

    Make sure this line is indented like the ones below it; the lines in my copy are one Tab in from the left.  Save, close the file, and open GraphicsRules.sgr.  Search for 29? , which will take you here:

    elseif (match("${cardVendor}", "ATI"))
    if (match("${cardName}", "*HD 29?0*") [etc.]

    Change the bolded HD 29?0 to 6700 , but don't change or delete any of the other characters, not even the asterisks.  This will designate your card as uber-level, as it should be.

    Your info shows you've already told the game your GPU has 1 GB VRAM, so you don't need to adjust anything there.

    Finally, search for RenderShadowMode 1 and change the 1 to a 2.

    Check DeviceConfig again when you're done.

    @puzzlezaddict Thank you so much!!
    Now I have to fix how much fps it consumes so that it doesn't creak since it reaches an average of 1850fps even though the graphics app indicates a maximum of 60fps. xD
    Wish me luck xD
  • @HaruYRen  I can help with that too if you want.  The Adrenalin fps cap works some of the time, so that's the place to start.  And be sure to choose the right executable: TS3.exe for an EA App install, or TS3W.exe (with the W) for a disc or Steam install.

    If the Adrenalin option doesn't work, the next thing to try would normally be RivaTuner Statistics Server, a free download.  But if you already have MSI Afterburner installed, you can use its fps limiter instead.  If you've installed the Smooth Patch or might do so, it also has an optional fps cap.
