How can I get a new product code for The Sims 3?

Hello, I just purchased a copy of The Sims 3 for PC and I cannot install it without first using the product code to download the game on the computer. Unfortunately, I purchased the game second hand and therefore there is no product code within the box. Is there any way to receive a new product code? i would really like to play the game.

If you purchased the game secondhand (as in used), you can't receive a product code because you didn't buy it from EA itself and the odds are that whoever owned the game before you bought it already registered it.

If you got the game from an other online retailer, I would return it and get your money back.
