Yes this is true. Feeding your pregnant sims 10 watermelons will result in them having a girl. (10 apples if you want a boy.)
most of the time i leave it up to the game for the babies my last game my sim had five boys , actually 3 of the same fruit is all the sim needs to eat have the fruit in the inventory ready just after i have the sims woohoo and i hear the chime i have her eat the watermelons
