How to play The Sims 3 after putting it on your USB.

Hi, I have the Sims 3 and two of the expansion I was able to paste the sims 3 file from my computer to my usb but I'm not sure how I can play it on my laptop. My original plan was to try to download the sims 3 on my laptop through Origin but my laptop is filled with other files that I guess it needs. I've deleted my stuff of my laptop to figure out, still there isn't enough room  to download the game. After looking at ways to download the game on my usb I fail at trying to do so, so I have the sims 3 file on my usb and the short cut but I still can't play it while I have it in laptop. If there is anyway some one can help me through this or help me figure out another tactic please tell me.

  • @KatCents You can NOT copy and paste the files for this game. The game HAS to be installed. During the installation there are files placed in locations other then the folders that not obvious. There are registry entries that that need to be correctly configured. Then there are the user data files in the user/documents folder that are created the first time the game is played. These user data files can not be moved by the game. These are basically like system files. In other words the game will always look for these files in a specitic location. There is a way to move that folder but advanced Windows techniques have to be used and I recommend casual Windows users don't use advanced techniques. Installing this game to a USB storage device is not without risks. USB drives can (and do) change the assigned drive designation under certain circumstances and this will cause the game not to play. One way a casual user could increase the system storage is to image the existing drive to a new larger drive. You could install a new larger drive and re install everything. To do a proper recommendation all details of your system need to be considered. That is what consultants do. When you download a file a temp file is created in a temp folder. The temp file will get larger until the file has completely downloaded. When completed the temp file is then copied to the designated location. This means you need twice the size of the download free to properly complete the download. This is just one of the many things that require free space on the system storage device.
