@iamsherlocked007 Please open Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Saves, and see if there's a folder with your save name plus a .backup extension. If there is, change the name, so it doesn't conflict with any other folder name, and delete the .backup extension. That backup should now be available to load from the Main Menu. Before loading the game, make a copy of the backup so you have a spare in case you need it.
If you don't find any saves in the Saves folder, sign into onedrive.com and check there, both in My Files and the Recycle Bin.
And in general, always keep backups in case something happens. I back up the entire Sims 3 folder to an external drive every once in a while and use "save as" at least once a sim-day so I always have older backups to rever to if I need them.
Finally, I would strongly recommend adding NRaas Traveler before your sims travel again, plus ErrorTrap, Overwatch, and Register. Traveler replaces the unreliable EA travel transition with a more stable version; Register handles role assignments; the others do cleanup in the background. All of them work on their own, without need for user input. You can find more information here:
