how to run sims 3 basic on mac

I've downloaded Sims3 on to my macbook pro. in the details it says it will run on Mac but the download in my Origin window says it only runs on windows. Can you help please?

My Mac spec is OS X 10.10.5

Intel i5 processor 2.8 GHz

Graphics Intel Iris 1536 MB

8 GB Ram DDR3

  • @Amz1958  I've moved your post to the Sims 3 Mac section.

    Sims 3 does run in macOS, at least versions of macOS that aren't Catalina.  Do you have an Origin Access subscription?  Access is Windows-only, and you can only play games you own through Access in Windows, even if those games have Mac versions too.

    If this isn't the problem, please take a screenshot of the entire Origin window showing where Sims 3 says Windows only, so I can see whether there are any other options available.

  • Open up the System Information app (it should be in '/Applications/Utilities/System Information.app', if you're having trouble finding it, go to your Finder and on the Menu Bar, select Go -> Go to Folder... and copy that path in the bar. It'll show you where it is.) On the System Information app, the page that opens up should have some information like this:

    Hardware Overview:

     

      Model Name: MacBook Pro

      Model Identifier: MacBookPro11,3

     

    Can you share what it says for you next to "Model Identifier"?
