i did everything that was in the instructions. checked to make sure origin was deleted the "easy" and "hard way". restarted my computer and tried to download origin from the link you posted. This is the error message i got. I have received this error before along with the VCRUNTIME140.dll error. I was given some instruction to correct it. but nothing happened so that was when i decided to recover my computer to be sure things were they way they were supposed to be.
@tiska589 Okay, I consolidated everything in one thread, to make things simpler. The error you're getting now is still the original error: the 2015 VC++ runtimes aren't installed, and they need to be. Origin should install them automatically, but that often doesn't happen.
I think the equivalent of Settings > Apps in Windows 7 is Control Panel > Programs; you should be able to uninstall any VC++ runtimes from there. (They should still be listed as "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables.") Or you can hit Windows key-R and enter "appwiz.cpl" without quotes, and you should see the same list. Let me know what you currently have installed, or take a screenshot if you want.

@tiska589 Right, since the 2015 runtimes aren't installed, you'll need to install them manually. Here's the link again:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145
Download both the x86 and x64 versions, and run the installers as an admin. If you get an error, please look for related entries in the Reliability Monitor. Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes. You'll see a list of errors and updates, with a column for each day. (Today is all the way on the right.)
Look for an error that happened around the time that you tried to install the runtimes, click "View technical details," then copy the information and paste it into post here. Sometimes the Reliability Monitor doesn't update right away, so if you don't see any related errors, be sure to check back a little while. The timestamp on the initial chart can also be off by up to an hour, so that's not an entirely reliable metric, but the one within the technical details should be accurate.
