I have been unable to change ANY settings in The Sims 3 for some time now. Because of this, the game is becoming UNPLAYABLE. All settings are set to the default lowest and sometimes a message pops up about an unrecognized graphics card. I think the problem is that the game just doesn't recognize my graphics card because the graphics card drivers are relatively new, from 2018. (In addition, previously, before installing the new drivers, the game would shut down when I ran it in windowed mode, and now it's fine as far as that goes.) I tried uninstalling the game and installing again, but that had no effect. I've been having this problem for a few months now, before that everything worked seamlessly.

I created a new topic because I think the underlying issue that is preventing me from changing settings in The Sims 3 is the game not recognizing my graphics card. By the way, your advice on my previous thread didn't help me at all. Thanks for your involvement, but for now the problem remains unsolved. I'm hoping that perhaps someone else will be able to help me.
@D1NACALIENTE A simple case of an unrecognized graphics card has never stopped anyone else from changing their in-game settings. That includes me, and I've tested plenty. I was asking for more information because I wanted to look for other symptoms of the underlying issue, which may well be related to the graphics system overall but is not as simple as un unrecognized card.
But if you'd rather have someone else help, that's your prerogative.
