@AnaMariaApostol For your current household, did you save with the game in that state? If so, you'll probably need to revert to a backup save; let me know if you need help with this, or if the automatic backup the game creates is also from after you tried to move towns. (It's easy enough to test if you're not sure.)
Since even a new save isn't working correctly, it's better to address that first. Go into Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\CurrentGame, and delete anything you find in there. That folder should always be empty unless you have a save loaded and running. In the Sims 3 folder, please also delete the five cache files. They should be deleted regularly anyway, and while troubleshooting, delete them every time you quit the game. For reference, they are:
- CASPartCache.package
- compositorCache.package
- scriptCache.pacakge
- simCompositorCache.package
- socialCache.package
Create another new save, and see whether Edit Town works. Let me know either way.
