Solved

Installed my first Origin Expansion Pack only for it to not play. Help?

I originally had The Sims 3, Pets, Showtime, Generations and Ambitions on disc, and already had CC installed, but I swear it isn't that because I had played it only a few hours earlier. So now it doe...

Actually, all I needed to do is download the Sims3Dashboard from ModTheSims and use that to clear the cache before I begin the game. It works every time, though I need to make sure to savethe game every 30 minutes, and save the sim I am building (if in CAS) after every clothing change (I mean, if you've just finished doing a casual outfit, then save the sim to bin before going on to formal) then it should work fine. And if you want an autosave feature I recommend Awesomemod. You can set it to Autosave every 30 minutes by using their custom settings, but make sure you make it save while unpaused, because if not, it wont Autosave unless you press pause.
So yeah, I'll just set this post as the solution, as it solved my problem the best it could.

Well, if it stoped working after you put in some mods, you probably put in an outdated one.
Try the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps/td-p/714/
Your graphic chip is a bit weak for the game but that should not be the issue here.

  Actually, all I needed to do is download the Sims3Dashboard from ModTheSims and use that to clear the cache before I begin the game. It works every time, though I need to make sure to savethe game every 30 minutes, and save the sim I am building (if in CAS) after every clothing change (I mean, if you've just finished doing a casual outfit, then save the sim to bin before going on to formal) then it should work fine. And if you want an autosave feature I recommend Awesomemod. You can set it to Autosave every 30 minutes by using their custom settings, but make sure you make it save while unpaused, because if not, it wont Autosave unless you press pause.
  So yeah, I'll just set this post as the solution, as it solved my problem the best it could.
