installing sims3 outdoor living caused for my game to stop working

I had been playing sims3 Non-stop and then bought an expansion pack (sims3 outdoor living), when I installed this it said an update was available, I clicked yes to install it and it said an unknown e...

@emilyg96 Is your computer a pc or mac? If you have a pc what version of Windows do you have?

        @emilyg96 Do you have Origin for mac installed? el capitan will no longer work with SecuROM and over burning. you need to get the game to work off Origin for mac for authentication and you shouldn't need a disc anymore.
