is the game second hand/used ? or brand new ?
We are having the same problem. Origin does not accept our code. Game was purchased new in December 2013 and has been in use regularly since. Game now refuses to load and Origin says our code is already in use.....it should be....its our code....we own it!

if your trying to reinstall the game with the code
For Origin
You don't need to re-register again. Simply login with your Origin account. Right click the game icon download The game should be there in myGames. If it's not, contact a game advisor
