Is it possible to get a free download if you have the sims 3 registration code?

My Sims 3 disk got cracked in the center, so I googled if it's possible to get a free download if you have the registration code. I read a couple of yahoo answers and some said yes and others said no...

    Hey Mike,  

      I checked to see if my game was registered and it is. But is it possible to get a free download of the sims 3 on the offical website. Or would I have to contact someone?

hey there,

    you will want to contact EA at help.ea.com and if they can see the game registered on your account and it shows in your Origin you shouldn't need a new code.   You would want to uninstall the physical version of the base game through origin and then you should have the option to download it digitally from EA through Origin

    Also,  if the game isn't registered... go to TheSims3.com and use your same login for origin and register the game there.
