Is the sims 3 university life standard edition compatible with Mac??

I recently bought The sims 3 university life standard edition from amazon, and it only states it is compatible with 'PC DVD' and not mac, but says the limited edition is compatible?? However i have read on other sites that it is, please can someone let me know if it is compatible with a Mac or not? Thanks

  • Officially, yes the game is "compatible with Macs".  Even if you bought the PC version of it, you can download the Origin client, and enter the serial code.  Then  you get download it digtially as either a PC download or Mac download.

  • thankyou! i have installed the game via the bought version not the download, and the launcher crashed when opening it after i had downloaded the latest patch, and 45 mins into my game i was in CAS and it quit unexpectedly saying i needed to debug... i don't suppose you know what this is?? Also, what is the origin client? thanks

  • The debug error is very common; if you don't have cc or mods, it's mostly due to Cider (especially since you were 45 mins into CAS which causes the error to occur faster).  There's nothing you can do to fix that other than some of the suggestions I've linked before, even then those things only help but not prevent crashes.

Also, the Origin client is just a separate application/program you can install on your computer.  If you have it, it's in your Applications folder.  This post explains a little bit about it; just scroll down to the FAQ if you want the download link: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/644084.page
