@Sam_Is_Great: Do you still have any mods in your game (or cc) ? Is it just Dragon Valley ? What's your graphic card and are your drivers updated ? Did you try playing around with the options to see if it makes a difference ?

@tea_and_blues: Any mods in ? Did you try that on a fresh game or an existing one ?
@MCaroll: Patching often stucks Sims in existing games which leads to lags. You can reset all sims in your town with resetsim *. Not sure about the new game though
@okido1987: Did you try the factory reset clean folder approach to see if you have the same issue ? I'll add though.
