My household is gone after changing screen size

So i changed the resolution from 1366×768 to 1920×1080 (i play in fullscreen mode). And forgot to restart the game and just started my save. But when it loaded, the game took me to create/choose/move household screen and my household was gone. My lot was there, so I just moved my household copy and started to play. I thought everything was normal back again. So i saved the game because i didn't wanna deal with this issue again. But later i realized this was an older version of my household. My sim was jobless even though he was employed the entire time of my gameplay (i moved them to a new town about 25 sim days ago so the copy is that version). I can't even apply for the same job again or cheat (he is a doctor and at the highest level). What should I do? Since I already saved it once my backup file takes me back to create/choose/move household screen

  • demetriyus  There's no reason that changing the resolution should have deleted any of your data.  What exactly was missing though: your entire save, or just the sims while edits to your town were intact?  It's possible that the game couldn't load the household and therefore made you choose a new one.

If you still have that backup save, try loading a different, existing household, and see whether your sims' data is still present.  Choose a household that has friends or coworkers to make it easy, and also send a sim over to the house to see whether anyone lives there.  But don't save your progress.

Please also let me know whether you use mods or would be willing to add some.

Just my current household is gone, everything else was fine. (I thought it was 😃😃)

I launched the game to do what you told me to but I can't select any household. They are not even shown on the map or anywhere. But I can add a new household and start playing.

I use Nrass, smooth patch and a few cc's

If you can't choose your old household, click their house and select NRaas > MC > Add Sim, then see whether your sims are on the list.  If they are, that means MC can probably find enough data to rebuild them, in which case add them and switch to their household.

While troubleshooting, delete the five cache files in your user folder every time you quit.  They should be deleted regularly anyway as they can accumulate stale data.  For reference:
