Hey, are you having the problem where you switch active households and when you click the check mark nothing happens?
If so, I had it too, I messed around a bit and got my game working again, here's what I did;
I made a new town/save file, switched a family around in there, didn't save.
then when back to my old town that was having the problem and it worked again... Not sure what it was exactly, I just found that it worked after that, I was trying lot's of different things.
