Issue with Using my Original Sims 3 CD's on my current Origin Account

Hi,

I have some The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 discs at home that I used to play with when I was a child. Today, as an adult, I would like to relive both games on my current PCs, but I no longer have access to the Origin account my parents used (which I used to play back then). Therefore, I would like to ask if there is any way to use the original discs I own for The Sims 3 (The Sims 3, Late Night expansion, Into the Future expansion, and a stuff pack) without any issues from my own current account, if I need to prove that those CDs are mine, or how I should proceed (now that I’m an adult). Due to the years that have passed since 2012–2013, I no longer have receipts or anything that could prove my family bought the game for me, but I still have my original CDs.

I am aware that for The Sims 2 the process is much simpler and I only need to adjust compatibility settings. What concerns me is The Sims 3, because I do remember it required Origin.

Thank you very much in advance!

  • MYURKOSC  If your Sims 3 base game disc was made before September 2012, then you don't actually need Origin, or now the EA App.  The newer ones do require it, but the older ones allow you to choose not to use the EA Download Manager and therefore keep away from the game launcher.

If your base game disc is newer, then your only hope here (other than finding an older disc somewhere) is to contact EA customer support and try to recover the old account.  Take a photo for each pack showing the disc, its case, and the product code (clearly readable).  You can upload these when you submit the help request.  These alone wouldn't establish ownership, but they can often help.
