after all the problems I've had with freezing and invisible Sims (started either with the update prior to or LateNight) and all the "work" I've done to make this game playable, without mods, I've come to the belief, mistakenly or not, that anything that happens to in-game Sims in this "open" community of the Sims 3 impacts on my Sims.
Your post was for me, right on.
EA needs to do some work on the core of the game and they are either ignoring the problem or they cannot fix it. And I don't believe any of their testers play long enough, either, to get the problems some players are experiencing.
I have taken extreme measures to stop freezing and invisible Sims from happening in my game (which usually occurs around Sim week 10)
and so far so good but it's like playing waiting for it to happen.
I am very disappointed with EA.
