WA is not the problem for me. I've had no problems with the family I made in Twinbrook, and I had the first sim do all of the WA adventures. All of my freezing issues happened in Bridgeport with families that never adventured at all.
I am agreeing and having to correct you Moliphino. The error lies in the various processes added when you installed Late Night and/or updated your game recently. One of the main problems is the over use of randomly generated movements and actions by the various Sims in your game. It'll happen regardless of which town you are in and WA has nothing to do with the types of freezing we are referring to here.
Take for instance the 'Get Out' pulse that is now thrown into the mix of actions your Sim(s) now must take whenever a bar or lot closes. This now affects more than simply the clubs as those same codes have been put into play at various town lots also. One of the careers that makes this the most obvious is the firefighter career. You can stay and sleep at the station with your controlled Sims... meanwhile other Sims will leave for a few hours and then return. This may not seem like a problem but it was how it was re-written.
The new coding for actions of both NPC and controlled Sims lacks a anthropic cooldown and a time-out feature. Anthropic cooldown is the previously programmed regeneration rate of continuous interactions. It was programmed that Sims would act upon needs for the most part but would whenever possible, mix their actions by the game codes picking randomly what they should do. Without the cooldown, a Sim will continuously aim to do the same thing over and over. The problem that arises from this is that without a time-out feature... that code begins to replay over and over causing severe lag and potentially a freeze in coding.
World Adventure related issues are mainly due to a lower end system. If you are lacking RAM for instance... it is VERY EASY for your game to get a memory leak and not be able to save FOUR WORLDS at once. Remember that until you actually go to China/Egypt/France... nothing happens there and that world is not saved. The moment you do however... the game is then having to save all progress/actions in all of the vacation worlds.
HOWEVER!!! These can all cause serious issues when used in combination. World Adventures makes your game run even harder AND if your game action codes begin to flood... it's naturally only a matter of time before your game becomes unplayable.
