Hi SimToth - just a suggestion but I always save copies of my favourite Sims to the library (the Sim bin) so if I have to, I can place them into a new game. Sometimes the game corrupts, sometimes
the house, the lot, the Sim - who knows but I can usually start again with the copy in the bin.

(I save with and without the house, usually after I've maxed out skills or careers).
