Late Night Expansion causing error on Mac.

To whom it may concern,

I purchased the Sims 3 bundle which included Late Night Expansion Pack & High End Loft Stuff for Mac. I do not know if this error also affects High End Loft Stuff but it seems to happen every time I install Late Night Expansion Pack.

The installation of the base game went fine and loads normally but after I install the Late Night Expansion Pack, I get a popup saying "Unknown Error" which prevents the launcher from loading. I had to do a clean uninstall/removal and reinstall the game again from Origin.

I noticed that on one of the sections (Game Validation) when installing Late Night Expansion Pack, there is a line that says "WARNING The Sims 3 version installed is more recent than expected. The Sims 3 Late Night could be incompatible. Make sure you get all updates before playing"

I read somewhere before that were was a patch, I do not know if this patch addresses all expansion packs/add-ons or only this one. 

I have attached an image to help clarify the situation.

    Hi @Darienvista,

    Thanks for such a detailed post, everything was more than clear 🙂

    You are installing all the games through Origin, right? Then feel free to press the blue 'Continue' button, the warning just means your game is in a more recent version than the expected but do not worry, shouldn't be a problem later.

    After installation of Late Night Expansion, the base Sims 3 Launcher does not load and instead, a pop up occurs displaying, "Unknown Error Occurred" This only happens when I install the Expansion Pack.

    I am also having this problem with the Sims 3 High End/Late Night Bundle. If you just install High End Loft, the game works fine. The problem must be with Late Night. Every I time install Late Night, the "An unknown error has occurred" message comes up.
