Launcher Login Welcome Tab - Cannot Log In

I am unable to download purchased items. It brings up the launcher and over that is a login request. I put in my login information and click OK but nothing happens. Also, the Welcome tab on my launcher displays:

"The website cannot display the page
HTTP 500
Most likely causes:
The website is under maintenance.
The website has a programming error.

What you can try:
Refresh the page.

Go back to the previous page.

More information More information

This error (HTTP 500 Internal Server Error) means that the website you are visiting had a server problem which prevented the webpage from displaying."

Anyone else having this problem?

    I am having the exact same problem.. haven't reported it yet.  I tried logging in inside the game and it states it doesn't recognize my email and password but I can log in via the website.

    I am on Windows 10.  Someone else here suggested resetting Microsoft Edge.  Go to Search or Cortona and type "internet options"; click on the "advanced" tab at the bottom you will see a button "Reset"

    Now my launcher works!!! Thanks Folks!!!

    EA has been working on the servers recently so it is possible the site was down for a little while.

    Hey, did any one ever get this issue fixed? It's now August, and I just got a new computer and downloaded all my games. not I'm getting this error. Thanks for any information.

    @Michelle_Haggard @texansky Try resetting IE (for Widows 10 not Edge - search for IE and you should find IE11, As I don't use IE I just reset the browser under the advanced in options. this will clear the cookie and allow a new cookie to be created.

    I am having the same issue now. I just bought a lot of expensive store content and can't download it because the launcher won't let me log in. I know my password is correct.

    I reported the problem to EA tonight and they said it was on their side and that it would be fixed shortly.  I have been going crazy waiting all night because I can't download store purchased items either.  It's also been like this for about a week now.

    no.  They told me it would be up again last night.  Still can't login to launcher or download store bought items.  I keep getting this http 500 internal server error.

    @k-hewitt05 Is your computer a pc or mac?

    all: please post the following as this information is critical in giving you the proper solutions.

    - Is your computer a pc or mac.

    - the operating system you have (Windows or osx)

    - the version of your operating system (Windows XP or el capitan)

    - any error messages (please be as accurate as possible)

    This information is critical because one solution may be very different from another - thank you

    So after trying numerous suggestions from EA advisors we finally found a solution that worked.  I want to share that with all of you who may encounter this issue now or in the future.  I had to go into my computer settings and reset internet explorer back to its original start date.  This brought my launcher back up and allowed me to download store bought content.
