If you haven't updated to the newest patch (1.55), Island Paradise won't work (so I've been told be EA customer support).
I am having the same issue.

for me It says " PowerPC applications are no longer supported" when i try to install Island Paradise of Sims3. i have a new ish computer and its up to date and ive got all the other games/expansions and im so angry i cant figure this out. please someone help me. i have searching for answers and no one can help me
