I am having the same issue, but with the base game only. On a Mac that literally arrived in the mail yesterday.

If you have a brand new Mac your problem is most likely incompatible graphics.

What Mac do you have? If you have a Mac with any of the following graphics the game is not compatible:

Intel Iris (Late 2013 and onwards Retina 13" MacBook Pros, entry level iMacs and entry level 15" MacBook Pro)

Intel HD 6000 (Early 2015 model MacBook Airs)

AMD Radeon R9 M370X (Mid 2015 high spec. 15" MacBook Pro)

You can try the workaround here, using the relevant details for your graphics card.

  I just bought an Macbook Air, but it does appear to have the Intel HD Graphics 6000. What would you suggest?

    Trying the workaround in the link I posted in my previous post. Your game will not play unless you can get the game to recognise your graphics card.
