Why would we think you're using pirated copies??

If moving out the Sims folder doesn't work then you need to probably try a clean uninstall and reinstall. Have you repaired permissions in Disk Utility?

If that doesn't work then you may unfortunately be one of the gamers who can't get the game to run at all on their Mac. :(
