sorry about that. the warning is telling me that the sims 3 game is newer than the expanion packs and that if I download the expantion packs it would mess up the game. what do I do

but when I do that a message comes up saying that there is an known error as happened. so what could i do

the pop up that appears when I instal the sims late night says that it could be incompatible and make sure you get all updates before playing. the sims 3 verion installed is more recent than expected. The pop up is titled as a validation error
- Anonymous11 years agoYou may have a corrupt installation of the base game from Origin, in which case you need to do a clean uninstall and try again using the instructions I posted earlier. Get the base game installed, patched up to date and make sure it works before adding any expansions.

I did that and I can play the sims 3 game with out the packs that came with the game. just once i try to download the packs that warning comes up. what can i do

The warning you see about the game being more up to date than expected can be ignored. The "unknown error" is more tricky.
When you open the game launcher, does the number in the lower left hand corner indicate that you are patched to level 1.67?
Also, how much RAM does your Mac have?
