Macbook Pro sims 3
For the love of jesus someone help me. Been working and watching YouTube videos for hours and found nothing to help. I've just started refurbishment on a (late 2008 macbook pro) It's on os x el ca...
@HerrxWolf I've moved your post to the Sims 3 Mac section.
Do you have iCloud set to automatically sync the contents of Documents to cloud storage? If so, please undo this setting. You can still manually move folders to your iCloud drive, but the auto sync feature has been causing problems lately, albeit mostly for Sims 4. Here's a guide, in case you need it:

If this isn't the issue, please go into Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3, open the file labeled deviceconfig.log, and past the first 40 or so lines (up to where the "Options" section starts) into a post here. You can delete the user and computer names, about 25 lines down, but nothing else is identifying information. This will show what the game makes of your hardware.
Please also take a screenshot of the error message you're getting and attach it to a post.
Thanks for the reply, I tried to look for the device configure. Log and I haven't got that in my files it only shows me this in the picture
Tried the Icloud and yet to try but it didn't look to be syncing any of my stuff in documents
Still hot fixed yet
@HerrxWolf Okay, the fact that you don't have a deviceconfig.log yet means the game isn't getting far enough to generate one. Please try running Sims 3 with nothing else open on your computer, not even Origin. Restart your computer, open Applications, then the Sims 3 folder, and launch the game by double-clicking on the green plumbob icon inside. If it doesn't work, restart, disable your laptop's wifi so there's no internet connection at all, and try again.
If you do get any errors, please take screenshots of the error message pop-ups themselves. The crash report isn't all that useful—all I can see from your second screenshot is that Cider crashed, which I figured would be the case.
Please also show me what's inside the Sims 3 folder in Applications. And I'd like to check to see whether your graphics card is in the game's database. It's easiest to search by device ID; each model of card has a different one. Click the Apple logo in the upper left corner of your screen and select About This Mac, then System Report. Under Hardware, select Graphics/Displays, and copy the information listed or take a screenshot. If you have two cards, please provide the info for each one.
I've reset my laptop and am reinstalling both games now I'll be back with a update when done
Something common I've realised is when I click the app it starts up 2 sims 3 logo and this time it's loaded 3.
It does this and then shows this error when I started up and I am now to try without using wifi
Sorry for the spam again, this is the screenshot when wifi is turned off and this I'd my graphics
@HerrxWolf Okay, so it looks like you only installed the base game, not Late Night or High-End Loft Stuff. The easiest approach is probably to install both, which will bypass the license server error. Open your Origin library, click on the Sims 3 icon, select More > Expansion Packs (for LN) or Stuff Packs (for HELS), scroll to where the pack is listed, and click Download.
Once the two packs are installed, you'll need to create an alias (icon) for LN in Applications\The Sims 3, next to the alias for the base game. This is simple:

Your graphics card is in fact in the Sims 3 database—thanks for that info screenshot—so you won't have to add it manually. (I thought it would be, but it's easier to just check.) So you shouldn't have any other errors. The other useful step is to run the Super Patch (digital download version), rather than letting the launcher do a shoddy job of patching on its own.
