Missing Expansion Packs

I have reached out to EA/Origin multiple times on this issue and have received no help. I previously had every Sims 3 expansion pack that there is but when my computer broke and I got a new one none of them have shown in my account. It has literally been almost 2 years and I haven’t had access to any of the expansion packs that I PAID for. I have purchased the Sims 4 and many of their expansion packs and have never had this problem. Previous employees I spoke to on this issue actually didn’t even believe me that I had this issue- that’s when I just gave up out of frustration months ago. I’d appreciate if they could actually help me get my games back.

    Hi @Lexi290

    Just some things to consider. Are you sure that you have made use of the same account constantly over this time period and that the games aren't spread across multiple accounts? Because if they are you could just contact support and request that they merge the two accounts. You will need to provide proof of ownership of both accounts though.

    If this is not the case and you are 100% sure that the expansions were always available on this same account that you are using now, then try the following:

    Go to the EA Account & Billing section of your account and click on Order History. Then in the criteria drop-down select Completed and All.
    Here is a direct link: https://myaccount.ea.com/cp-ui/orderhistory/index

    This should provide you a history of all your purchases including the missing expansions. Find the expansions you are looking for and write down all of the order numbers for the missing expansions.

    Armed with this information, contact support and tell them that you are missing content (expansions) on your account and provide them with the proof of purchase aka your order numbers. They should be able to re-activate or add the missing content to your account.

    I know I don't have another account but it also doesn't show them as purchased. I bought and downloaded all of them from discs and not online so I'm not sure if that effects it. My origin is acting kind of odd because I'm unable to download the original Sims 3 but I am able to download the Sims 3 (64 bit & metal) automatically. On my original Sims 3 it doesn't show my owned expansion packs as being able to purchase though. It seems like they're hidden in the Sims 3 version that I'm not able to download correctly. Is it possible to look in my account history as proof and get codes sent for the version that's working?

    @Lexi290  Just to clarify, in your Origin game library, do you have both the original and the 64-bit versions of Sims 3?  If not, please dismiss all filters; click on Filters in the upper right corner of your library to see the options.  Click on each Sims 3 entry and select Expansion Packs (it could be hidden under More), then scroll through to see whether any packs are listed as owned.  Repeat for Stuff Packs.  Please let me know how many packs show up as owned and how many are missing.

    Please also let me know whether your computer runs Windows or macOS, and what version; and also whether you still have access to your original discs.

    Hi @Lexi290

    So from what you've stated so far, I think it's safe to assume that you are running MacOS Catalina, which has removed support for 32bit applications & games and has deprecated OpenGL in favor of Metal.

    Due to this, The Sims 3 in its current form would not work on the latest version of MacOS requiring essentially a complete port of the game over to the newer version of MacOS.

    Luck for you that new port recently released, about two weeks ago to be precise and hence why you are seeing two copies of the game in your library. One that is playable and one that is not.

    Paying special attention to this excerpt:
    "I have The Sims 3 DLC and/or content from The Sims 3 Store. Do I need to re-purchase them if I use the new version?

    No, all of your existing packs, Worlds and purchases from The Sims 3 Store stay with you. To install your Packs, you will need to download them once you have installed the new version of The Sims 3. You can do this by selecting The Sims 3 (64-bit & Metal) from My Game Library in Origin and selecting each Pack type and clicking the Download button. For content purchased from The Sims 3 Store, login at TheSims3.com and go to Store > My Store Account > Purchase History and you will see your purchases ready for download."

    Your Origin account details should log you into the Sims 3 site. If this does not work and you still do not gain access to your expansions. Then I'd suggest you contact support and request that they add your expansions from their side to the 64bit/Metal port of Sims 3.
