Missing "Installed" Store Content

I have Grim's Ghastly Manor. That said, the build objects ARE NOT installed in my game. When I place the lot, it changes all of the windows and the front door isn't even there. I know I've had it in the past, but I haven't actually played using this content before. Now I'm incredibly frustrated because it feels like it's improperly installed? I can install the Door of Life and Death separately, but that won't give me the other doors and windows that are supposed to come with this DLC from the Store. (Edit: installing the Door of L&D separately DID NOT give me the Door of L&D, unless it's not located in the Doors section of Build Mode)

I've tried on a new save as well and still do not have any of the actual build mode items from the Store.

I realized later my downloads would be fine. I've not been feeling well the past few days (which is making this all the more frustruating) so unfortunately my brain is not at 100% lol

Ok, so right now I have uninstalled any store files from Grim's Ghastly Manor. How can I identify which .ebc file belongs to it? Otherwise I will just remove all .ebc files and uninstall all store content. And am I removing the files from both DCCache and DCBackup?

The issue is that I have CC (downloaded elsewhere) that pops up as "store content" within my game. That was my confusion with my CC. But I'm happy to just ignore that for now and assume they will still be .dbc files instead

Edit/Update: Ok took me a minute with how my brain is working. But I removed all the .ebc files from DDCache which are from when I was downloading Grim's Ghastly Manor. I decided to be safe and remove the others as well, and removed the temp EBCs? I also removed ccmerged from DCBackup and removed my saved worlds from the store. I exited out of the TS3 launcher. Working to reinstall all Store content now. Will update once I try loading my game.

  • poptart52  You don't need to touch the custom content, at least not now.  I'm not sure whether you mean you've installed content through the Exchange (player-made items that sometimes have cc attached), or you've downloaded cc that has Store icons in-game, but either way, this data would be bundled into .dbc files in DCCache.  The proper Store items are bundled into .ebc files.

So rather than uninstall anything through the launcher, you'd move the .ebc files to the desktop, as well as ccmerged.package in DCBackup, and reinstall your Store stuff.  It would be best to remove any Store worlds from InstalledWorlds as well.  You might get some duplicate files in Library, but that's fine, those can be removed later.

When installing Store items, do only a few at a time, and worlds on their own, before moving to the next batch.  The launcher doesn't handle large amounts of data very well.

My question was whether it would be easier to do this or to be even more narrow in scope, trying to rebuild your Store stuff without removing all of it.

Downloads can stay as it is, and in fact you can use the downloaded Store files to reinstall them if you want rather than downloading everything again.

I did try uninstalling and reinstalling but I'll try again. If I need to I'll uninstall all store content 😭 Issue is I have some CC that.... masquerades as Store content? So I'm not sure if that would need to be uninstalled, and if it would stay in my downloads section to reinstall later if desired, or if i need to hunt everything down, set it to the side in a folder on my desktop, etc. while I do testing.

  • ump1vintti  The ccmerged file is only relevant for premium Store content.  The only premium item in this set is the Door of Life & Death.  So this wouldn't do anything for the other missing items.

Also, the EA App notifications haven't been an issue for years, since the shortly after EA App went into full release for PC and before everyone was force-migrated from Origin.

Turn off the EA App's Notifications (from settings) so that Store content shows up correctly in your game:

If this doesn't work then the reason could be corrupted ccmerged-file.
Delete everything from DCBackup-folder (make copy of ccmerged-file first and placed it to desktop or somewhere else for backup if something goes wrong), and then download Nona's Sims ccmerged-file from here:

     https://nonasims.wordpress.com/2012/05/17/dcbackup-ccmerged-package-and-your-premium-content-items/

The correct file can be found in the last Q section of the main article ("Q: but I install my store content as package files or I really don't want to create a ccmerged.package.")

Place the downloaded ccmerged-file to your DCBackup-folder (make sure there is nothing else in the folder), and after that it should work perfectly.

  • poptart52  Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the set through the launcher?  This doesn't always work but is worth trying.

If that doesn't help, how much other Store content do you have installed?  Or rather, how much of a burden would it be to have to reinstall all of it?  There are a couple of approaches that could work here, depending on your preference; the question is which one is better for you.
