My game won't download to my MacBook. New problem?

Hey Hey--

So there's a lot of things that can be going wrong in the situation you described, but they all seem totally fixable.  

So, first off, Did you ever register the game to a Sims account?  If yes, are you using that same email and password to log in to Origin? 

Yes!  it's registered on my account and I'm still using the same email and password

This is long and most likely time consuming..  Sorry...but hopefully it'll be easy to understand and your game will work.

---Okay, so if your games were registered on your Sims account, you should be able to digitally download them from Origin (for free!) as long as you are logging into Origin with that same email address and password that you use for your Sims account.  The easiest away to avoid the "disc authentication" error Mac Simmers get is to install the games via digtial download from Origin.  You'll never have to use the discs.  To install the Origin application on your Mac, use the link given in the FAQ of this post:  http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/644084.page

---Once you have Origin installed, click on the "My Games" tab.  The games you had registered on your Sims account should appear here for installation.  Install the base game first.  Then use Mac SuperPatch to patch your base game manually.  Here's the link the Mac SuperPatch with its instructions: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/549552.page

---Try your game out.  If it works with the SuperPatch, then install Pets from the Origin application.  After it finishes installing it might say something like "your base game is more recent than expected ..blah blah," but you can safely ignore this warning since you've already patched your game.

Okay so I downloaded Origin. how do I download the game now? I tried redeeming the product code but It said it was already used?

okay here's what happened. I could't find a way to download it with origin.. so I used the disk, downloaded it with no problem, then patched it with no problem. I followed every step very clearly. they I launched it through origin and it asked for me to update the store, but before I did that, I cancelled and pressed play and it said "disk authentication failure: no disk found" blah blah blah. I inserted the disk and the same message popped up.

Do you have any Store content installed ?
