Hi there, I don't know if this information will actually help you at all, but I used to have a similar problem.
It may be that your computer has been over-heating. If this is the case, elevating it may help, and make sure all vents are clean of debris.
In my case, this was caused by my computer processing too many frames per second (fps).
I wish I could be more helpful and tell you how to limit how many fps your computer is using while playing sims, but I ended up having my dad fix my computer for me, and I have no idea what he did. (and he had to go to his coworkers to figure out what to do.)
Supposedly, if you enable something called Vsync (I think on your computer's video settings menu) this will synchronize TS3's fps usage with your computer's normal rate, limiting how many fps TS3 uses.
It also may be advantageous for your to make sure all your computer's inner-workings are, y'know , working properly. I once came across an individual who's computer kept shutting itself down because their cpu fan wasn't working. Also, if your computer has been over-heating, some of the components inside may have warped from too much heat over time.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
Thanks a lot. I do have my computer turning off ofter with the saying of heating error. I'll try to clean it all and see what happens.
