My Sims 3 store bought content will not install?

So I've been eyeing up a few items in the Sims3 store and decided to pay for some Sim Points to get them. They appeared in my Purchase History immediately and I downloaded them and installed them to the game with seemingly no problems. However, when I went to play the game I was unable to find any of the items and I bought them for a house I was part way through building ☹️ I have restarted the game and my computer several times as well as re-downloading and installing the items etc. But they just disappear from "Installed Items" every time I re-open the game launcher. Has anybody had this problem as well? Any advice on how to fix it would be much appreciated please! As right now I just feel like I've wasted money on Sim Points and not got anything from it haha 😛

let's start with the basics. Do you have a pc or mac? What version is your base game?

I have a PC with Windows 7 as the operating system 🙂 My base game is up to date - I literally updated it again today 🙂

I had to do this a couple of times (weird!) but it eventually worked 🙂 however I did lose all of my none store bought CC as a result of doing this ☹️ but it's better than losing things I actually paid for I guess! Thanks for the help guys 🙂 x

Did you also move out the dbc files ? If so, check your trash if they are still there and move them back

ebc files = Store content

dbc files = CC content

I already emptied my recycle bin, I empty it daily just to keep on top of things haha
Nevermind I'll just go on a bit of a hunt for some CC! Thanks again for your help x

what does back up the DCCache mean?

i have tried doing this every time i start up the sims 3 and as soon as I exit the game everything unistalls ☹️

@greeneyes90 Is your computer a pc or mac? First thing that comes to mind is you have Windows 10 with OneDrive active.
