My sims 3 university life won't let me rent a house/dorm/sorority

Hi, I recently have installed the sims 3 university expansion pack. I as well have obviously the sims 3 base game, generations expansion pack, and the high and tech stuff pack all on origin.
Anyways, everything worked out fine until I tried to rent any house/dormitory/ or sorority after inrolling in a university . When I click the tick circle box it won't let me click at all it's like it fades... I don't know why. Can anyone help me? I can't do anything
