My sims base game works but the expansion packs won't load

I have tried to install the new update (6.72) from my old one (6.2) but it doesn't work and keeps asking me to update. I recently put my sims games onto origin so it might be something to do with that ? But I have also manually installed the new update and it still isn't working what should I do??
