No Sound Effects, and Audio Issues

Hello!

I am encountering an issue where when I click on things, pause/change game speed, open the menu, etc, I do not hear the sound effects. Additionally, audio seems to overlap occasionally.

Tried double checking options (sound effects are at full volume in game) and deleting cache files. Also had to install Lazy Duchess's Alder Lake patch to get the game to run to begin with. DxDiag attached.

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know! I found a similar thread here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/No-sound-effects-but-music-keeps-playing/td-p/11241606, but it went unanswered.

  • @jessiegymnast89  Thanks for the dxdiag, but there's nothing obvious that would explain the lack of sound.  So please unplug all your sound devices, restart your computer, and plug in a different device that you haven't been using.  The simpler the better: headphones or earbuds connected via jack would be ideal, but you can use the sound output from your monitor instead.

This is just a test, not a suggestion for ongoing play.  Let me know how it goes.

  • Switched to a different headset, and it works now! Looks like I need to replace my audio cable. Thank you so much!
