Not able to install Sims 3 Super Patch 1.67. Help?

So I purchased the Sims 3 base game awhile ago along with: Supernatural, High-end Loft, and Late Night. To be exact around a time in July 2014 . I purchased it online, so I had to download from Origin. I Live in a rural area, we have high speed internet but downloading the base game took about 8+ hours, I am not very sure. Anyways, I try updating it numerous times through launcher, didn't seem to work , got the manual 1.67 patch couple times wouldn't install for some odd reason(Took about 4 -5 hours). Now I have seem prepared and downloaded, it is now sitting in my Downloads folder, however, when I was trying to install the patch it kept saying "Error" and that I basically need the base game to update. Do I have to delete my Sims 3 Base game and reinstall it? I'm getting really annoyed with all this and I've tried to find answers online, but I want a more direct answer to my problem.
