Notifications Bar

I've been having a few issues with my notifications bar in game. When I get a new notification, ex. Tim has reached level 3 of  cooking, it will not switch over to the notification. I also cannot see the date level if two of my sims go on a date The thrid probmel I've been having is the chatty tab. It will flash but I can't switch over to it.

    • Is this just happening in one save game or also if you start a new one for testing purposes ?
    • What's your operating system ?
    • Are you using mods or custom content in your game ?
    • DId this just start happening or has this been existing since the beginning ? If this is new, did you change anything on your computer/game ?

    It happens in all my games, curently I have 2 games but I had created another game and the issues still happened. My operating system is a Windows 8. I do use custom content but only the .sims3 files not the package files. It's been going on for a while. I used to be able to click on every tab but then it stoped letting me.
