Older Gen. needs tutorial on links in forum sign. and how to edit my posts

I have very limited exposure to computers and the internet. I'm embarrassed and clueless on how to ad links to threads on my signature in the forum. Some very nice people has help me to ad my wish li...

    @cristill13 You have to use the quotation marks before and after the url. You have to change everything I have written in red, but don't edit what I have written in black. If I'm not explaining myself good enough, just ask again... I'm not very good speaking in English.

    About the numbers, don't worry, it's easier than you think. Just open the thread you want to use and copy the URL from the top of the screen. In order to copy it, an easy way would be to select the whole URL double clicking on it, and then right click and choose "Copy":

    In this case: http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/836135/thanks-for-the-gift

    You may find a #latest or something like that at the end of the URL but it doesn't matter, just copy the whole URL.

    Now, paste it where I wrote LINK and edit the TEXT YOU WANT TO SHOW:

    [url="LINK"]TEXT YOU WANT TO SHOW[/url]

    [url="http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/836135/thanks-for-the-gift"]Thank you![/url]

    Your wishlist would be:

@pekesims How do you know what discussion numbers to put between the url's. I have two threads that I'd like to ad to my signature. A thank you thread and an off topic thread.Do I ad  these [ ] in front and after the url and then the quotation mark at the end or did you just ad those to show me what should be written within those marks.  Obviously I can't pick just any numbers that come to mind, like 763492. If you can explain that part I would be grateful. As far as the editing, I see where I should go for that now. I'll give that a try and I'll get back to you  with a solved message.
